General Questions

  1.  How do I place a reorder?

    Reorders can not be placed until the original roll of film has been processed and you have received your initial portrait purchase.  To place a reorder CLICK HERE, contact your local studio or call Customer Service at 1-800-59-SMILE.  JCPenney Portraits will store the negatives from your sitting for 90 days.  Once the film has been recycled, we will be unable to process a reorder.

  2.  How does the Portrait Club membership work?

    Sitting fees are waived for all subjects in a Portrait Club member's sitting.  Portrait Club members are entitled to club benefits on any portraits they purchase.  However, Portrait Club memberships are not transferable.  Members will also receive additional savings and special offers. Visit our Portrait Club membership page for more information.

  3.  How many people can you have in one sitting?

    Studio sizes vary by location.  In general, studios can photograph parties of seven adults.  Background sizes may vary. Call the studio nearest you for additional information.

  4.  Can I pick my backgrounds?

    Absolutely!  JCPenney Portraits offers many background options and each studio has a variety of props.  We also encourage you to bring in your own prop(s) to personalize the portrait.  Feel free to review our Portrait Tips area to help you prepare for the sitting.

  5.  What is the turn-around time for portraits?

    After placing your order, your finished portraits will be ready for you in approximately three weeks.  After your sitting, your Photographer will schedule a time for you to pick up your portraits.

  6.  Are appointments required?

    Appointments are not required, but we do recommend that you make one, especially during busy holiday seasons!  Click here for the phone number to the studio nearest you.

  7.  Can I have two sittings in one day?

    Certainly!  We are unable to honor more than one package coupon per family per day; however, you can use a sheet coupon at each sitting which will provide you with a large selection of portrait sizes and pose variety at a great value.

  8.  Can I make a change to the order I placed in the studio?

    Our system is completely automated; your order information is encoded directly on the film.  Once the film has been removed from the camera, we are unable to change the order.  If you return to the studio to pick-up your portrait package and you are unhappy with your selection, the Studio Associate will gladly assist you by reordering additional portraits or refunding your money for the sheets you do not want.

  9.  What are the refund policies at JCPenney Portrait Studios?

    JCPenney Portrait Studios has a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee.  If, for any reason, you are not happy with the portraits, we will retake your portraits or they can be returned for a refund or exchange them for sheets of a different pose.
