Preserve Your Memories

The moment you have been waiting for has finally arrived. You have your portraits and you are ready to put them on display. Here are tips for protecting your portraits for generations to come:

Quality portrait studios will use quality materials. JCPenney Portrait Studios uses only Kodak materials, the highest quality available in the industry today.

To properly showcase your portraits, it is best to display them in frames. There are hundreds of unique frame styles available in all the most popular sizes, and there are many frame styles that will complement your portraits. To avoid damage to the portrait do not use tape or other adhesives to secure the portrait to the frame.

Place the framed portrait in an area where it will not be exposed to direct sun or fluorescent light.

If you do not choose to frame the portraits, they should be placed in either pH-balanced albums or chemically stable plastic enclosures. The paper in photo albums should be white or off-white to prevent color bleeding and if possible, acid-free paper or plastic mounts should be used. Avoid magnetic photo albums - they contain adhesives and acidic compounds that could damage photographs. When in doubt, check with a knowledgeable salesperson before purchasing albums.
